
Cybersecurity Engineer

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team of innovative researchers and engineers working on advanced security services for commercial customers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing cybersecurity measures, providing technical support, and partnering with customers to deliver advanced security solutions.
We seek local candidates to the Laurel, Maryland office who are able to go into the office at least one day a week.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to security alerts and customer inquiries
- Instruct/guide/teach customers proper security procedures and tool use
- Threat hunting
- Incident response
- After-hours on-call support (team rotation, usually 1x evening/overnight per week, 1 weekend every 5wks)
- Developing and improving security automations
- Onboarding customers & tracking project completion
- Reviewing existing cyber tech stack/tools and researching new tech/tools
- Customer IT security engineering and configuration
- Customer risk analysis and policy review
- Complete industry and cybersecurity tool training
- Team collaboration and instruction on any specialization areas
- Business development support (participate in calls/demos)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field and 5+ years relevant experience; comparable education and experience will be considered
- 5 years of experience in System Administration, Networking, and/or Security.
- Demonstrated success in working in fast paced environments with the ability to manage workloads when handling incident responses with competing priorities
- Experience with Mac OS, Windows, and Linux systems.
- Ability to analyze event and system logs and recognize signs of cyber intrusions/attacks
- Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, TCP Dump, Security Onion, and Splunk
- Ability to apply critical thinking and logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills including the ability to work with both technical and non-technical customers/peers to research and resolve problems
- Strong written communication skills including the ability to develop process documentation or guidelines for technical staff
- Able and willing to work in a 24/7/365 environment, including nights and weekends, on a rotating shift schedule
NIce to have skills:
- Certifications preferred for the equivalent of CompTIA Security+ and Network+
Clearance/Citizenship:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Salary Range
$123,700 - $185,700 USD
