Sr. Strategic Finance Analyst
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Analyst to partner closely with business unit leads and finance leadership on key strategic decisions that drive growth for Uber Freight.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into consolidating subcomponents
- Partner with key stakeholders to translate top-line forecasts to headcount needs, ensure we are setting our business partners up to succeed while also challenging the organization to work within financial targets and efficiency goals
- You will help support the primary point of contact for all Tech operating expense controls.
- This includes ongoing maintenance and health checks, monthly forecasts, and annual/long-range planning
- Create cost management process by assisting in ideation, quantification, assessment, and tracking of productivity projects
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements to adjust our most pressing priorities
- Take ownership of projects from conception to completion, demonstrating strong initiative and drive
- Manage and interpret data effectively: Utilize your expertise to collect, organize, and analyze data, ensuring it informs strategic decisions and supports business objectives.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of proven ability in Corporate Finance/Operational FP&A
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Forecasting and Variance Analysis
- Financial Modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CFA or CPA
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze complex datasets
- Oracle Suite: Experience with Oracle Fusion, Hyperion Essbase, or EPBCS.
- Data Visualization: Experience building automated dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Capitalization Rules: Specific experience with R&D/Tech labor capitalization (CapEx vs. OpEx).
- Strategic Analysis: Experience performing ROI analyses for capital investments or product health KPIs.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a fast-paced Tech/Start-up environment.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional presentation skills, as this role requires "challenging the organization" and presenting to Tech leads and Finance leadership.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Previous experience in the logistics, supply chain, or financial services industries
- Bilingual in Spanish

Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more. US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.
- Illinois: The salary range for this role is $82,000 to $110,000 a year.
