Purpose of the Position:

The New Program Research & Development Manager supports the Director in overseeing the research, strategic development, and execution of new program initiatives. This role is crucial for advancing the organization's strategic vision by developing and implementing innovative educational programs.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Lead Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify and maintain knowledge of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities in the allied health field to inform new program development.
  2. Collaborate on Program Design:  In collaboration with academic and administrative departments, design and implement innovative educational programs aligned with the institution's strategic goals.
  3. Develop and Manage Projects: Create and oversee project plans for new program initiatives, ensuring timely and successful execution.
  4. Oversee Communication Materials: Manage the creation and dissemination of communication materials related to new program initiatives.
  5. Coordinate with Internal Partners: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop regulatory filings needed to offer new programs, implement changes, ensuring that program adjustments are aligned with regulatory requirements, market trends, and institutional objectives for the purpose of offering and supporting institutional growth.
  6. Monitor and Evaluate New Programs: Use data-driven insights to monitor and evaluate the industry-wide perspectives of major trends, customer needs, regulatory trends, including analyzing program outcomes, assessing alignment with institutional goals and making continuous improvements. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in interpreting data, determining appropriate metrics for evaluation, and recommending actionable strategies for program enhancements.
  7. Prepare Reports: Prepare and present reports on program development progress and outcomes to senior leadership.
  8. Ensure Compliance: Ensure new programs are developed to comply with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Research and documentation of state, accreditation, and certifying body requirements to offer programming (both directly to students and directly to employers) through Ultimate Medical Academy, Nasium, and any other UMA Education, Inc. segments.
  9. Strategic Planning: Assist the Director in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to new program development by conducting in-depth research, analyzing trends, and evaluating the feasibility and potential impact of proposed programs. Independently assess data and provide evidence-based recommendations to the Director, collaborating on the implementation of long-term plans while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional objectives.
  10. Manage Resources: Oversee resources allocated for new program initiatives.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in program research, development, or a related role.
  • Experience with regulatory filings
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English and otherwise interact professionally with other team members and those in other UMAE departments.
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams and Skype.
  • Demonstrated history of utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in program development or compliance.
  • High energy, entrepreneurial self-starter who works well in a complex, fast paced, demanding, and constantly changing environment.
  • Experience leading teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and comfort communicating with all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a high-pressure environment with timeline pressures.
  • Excellent influencing and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Compliance: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follow all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.  
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department. 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time remote position.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment, accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed

Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation Range

$73,100 - $95,000 USD
