Why you’re here
- Responsible for the project accounting function in Americas region
- Responsible to assist with month end close wherever required
What you’ll deliver
- High quality finance reports including month end close reports, analysis of projects, revenue forecast and project cash forecast as requested
- Data insights to the business to enabling effective performance management
- Strengthening internal control and governance, standardization and automation, and transaction processing in line with global standards but tailored to local requirements
- Meaningful and insightful financial analysis to assist business decisions
- Support to the delivery team and the business as required
How we’ll measure it:
- AR: Timely and accurate billings to clients, debts collected on a timely basis.
- Highlight potential revenue risk to management
- Projecting accounting: Timely and accurately accounting for projects, including revenue recognition, billing, costs projections, project AP processing, compliance requirements, timecard reporting and project forecasting
- Support delivery team on project projections, cost control, vendor account reconciliations, project close out and cost transfers as required
- Reporting: Delivery of month end closing and accurate reports
What you’re responsible for
Project Accounting
- Supporting the Senior Project Accountant in the financial management of active projects.
- Ensuring all contract and variations documentation is in place
- Maintaining a tracking system and partnering with project team to ensure vendor compliance and financial documentation is up to date prior to work beginning, during delivery and post delivery
- Overseeing and ensuring all AP invoices, requisitions, insurance certificates, lien waivers and other documents required by contract are routed to the PM for approval and processing
- Ensuring timely entry of all job costs as well as timely and accurate billing, with all required back up for the client and/or from subcontractors
- Supporting projects close out, ensuring PC certificates and accounts statements of all projects are in place
- Analyzing unusual project variances and investigating as appropriate
- Building and strengthening Unispace’s ability to manage the project administration (all project documents and AP processes and controls) in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring correct and timely posting of timecards and reporting to project teams
- Supporting delivery team as required
- Working closely with the Project Accounting team in other regions to ensure global consistency
Reporting and Forecasting
- Analyzing project GP movement and ensuring accurate and timely project costs projections
- Preparing project cash flow forecast and ensuring all projects are in positive cash position
- Contributing to monthly financial reviews and reporting, providing accurate data entry and support for reconciliations
Accounts Receivable
- Issuing invoices and ensuring all claims and billings are on schedule by working closely with the delivery team
- Ensuring correct sales tax rates are applied to billings across multiple jurisdictions
- Assisting Senior Project Accountant in managing debt collection and ensuring no long outstanding debts
Other
- Providing Audit support
- Creating effective relationships with key country stakeholders
- Fostering cross discipline and business collaboration
- Ensuring the culture, values and behaviours of our people regionally are aligned to the organization
- Driving efficiency and optimization within the regional organization.
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Work experience
- Over 2–4 years relevant work experience
- Project accounting and construction industry experience is preferred
Technical knowledge, skills or other requirements
- Strong commitment to excellent customer service and principles
- Experience with ERP system and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data analysis tools like Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Building relationships
- Willingness to obtain public notary certification if required
- Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location
Base Pay Range
$85,000 - $100,000 USD
