The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).

We are looking for an Insights Strategy Director to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this role is a hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote. 


What You'll Do

  • Create and maintain a daily/weekly streaming and/or consumption report as well as a weekly social media report for our exclusive artists to ensure data-driven decision making surrounding our records and artists
  • Track trends as well as trending artists for utilization by the marketing and A&R teams 
  • Run and maintain financial models to inform signing decisions 
  • Put together deep dive analytics on records and artists on the roster as well as comparative analytics to other records, artists, trends, etc.
  • Monitor growth and decay across platforms including Spotify, Apple, Youtube, TikTok, Shazam, Meta, TIDAL, Amazon, Audiomack, and more to inform artist marketing strategies.
  • Send new release recaps a week after release detailing first week(s) performance across platforms
  • Maintain consumption reports of individual project totals to track RIAA certification progress
  • Strategize rollouts: using historical data to inform timelines & strategies for campaigns
  • Map active tactics/campaigns to results so we can optimize our efforts 
  • Notify the team as any significant milestones are reached across platforms

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

You’re a we-first team player who loves music and is passionate about helping artists grow, earn, and thrive. You know how to tell stories with data, and you have deep experience deploying analytic methods to solve amorphous business challenges. You’ll have:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in the music industry
  • Passionate about the music industry and all modern music genres

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience within Data Science or Product Analytics deploying impactful analytic solutions

Salary Hiring Range: $116,000 - $135,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.  We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. 

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.  If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for the NY/CA.  As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
