Responsibilities:
The Medical Call Center Associate (Patient Engagement Representative I) is responsible for helping patients via inbound and outbound emails, texts, and web chats. calls, scheduling appointments, giving pre and post appointment instructions, and supporting our clinics are the primary duties of this role. This position will work a hybrid model of in-office and remote.
- Answer inbound calls from existing patients and process requests such as rescheduling appointments, answering questions on pre and post appointment procedures, insurance questions, and general medical questions.
- Make outbound calls to existing patients to support and improve their overall experience.
- Maximizing Physician's time by utilizing expert level knowledge of UVVC scheduling protocols and scheduling tools.
- Submit and maintain accurate records in multiple systems such as salesforce and the EMR.
- Participate in team meetings where new processes, policy, and services are discussed.
- Interact with other internal departments to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
- Work to retain and prevent cancellations and no shows.
- Keep accurate records of all cancellations, no shows, and potential patients who do not book an appointment.
- Utilize numerous tools to provide accurate information to patients.
- Open and close the office including locking doors and unlocking doors.
- Update all records in the EMR and CRM including PCP, demographic information, and encounters.
- Assisting on special projects such as handling escalations, training new hires, and testing new software/processes/responsibilities.

- Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
- 1-2 years in customer service required.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Navigate multiple software systems such as an EMR and a CRM.
- Experience with telephony technologies.
- Medical terminology understanding.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
