Senior Director, Integrated Media

Chicago, Illinois, United States; Nashville, Tennessee, United States; Remote

Who You Are

You are a senior media leader who knows how to turn complexity into clarity, strategy into momentum, and integrated media into measurable business impact. You bring deep expertise across the full media ecosystem, including digital, social, programmatic, search, video/CTV, audio, traditional, OOH/DOOH, and emerging channels. More importantly, you understand how those channels work together to shape behavior, influence decision-making, and drive outcomes for healthcare clients.

You are a trusted advisor to senior clients and internal teams, with the ability to lead annual planning, guide executive-level recommendations, and translate sophisticated strategies into clear, actionable plans that teams can rally around. You know what great work looks like, hold the bar high on major client-facing deliverables, and partner closely across Client Experience, Analytics, Investment, Marketing Technology, Creative, Project Management, Finance, and agency leadership to deliver connected, measurable media solutions. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can see the big picture, develop teams, and help Unlock deliver smarter, more effective work, not a day-to-day campaign execution or platform optimization role.

What You'll Do

  • Lead integrated media strategy and annual planning for assigned clients, ensuring recommendations align with business goals, audience insights, budgets, and measurement objectives.
  • Serve as the senior media lead for clients, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leading executive presentations, business reviews, and strategic discussions.
  • Review and approve all major media recommendations before they are presented to clients, serving as the final media quality check to ensure strategic alignment, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Guide teams in developing holistic channel strategies across digital, social, programmatic, search, video/CTV, audio, traditional, OOH/DOOH, and emerging platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop media team members, coaching them on strategic thinking, client communication, presentation development, and integrated planning.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Client Experience, Analytics, Marketing Technology, Creative, Project Management, and Finance, to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Work with Analytics and Marketing Technology teams to ensure measurement strategies, dashboards, reporting, and optimization approaches support client business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve media planning processes, tools, templates, workflows, and best practices.
  • Stay current on media trends, emerging platforms, healthcare trends, privacy changes, regulatory considerations, and measurement approaches.
  • Contribute to agency growth through new business, organic growth, cross-sell opportunities, vendor relationships, and thought leadership.
  • Leverage AI tools where appropriate to improve research, planning efficiency, audience insights, strategic development, and team productivity.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in media strategy, integrated media planning, and digital marketing, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing media teams, including both junior and senior team members.
  • Deep knowledge of integrated media planning across digital, social, programmatic, search, video/CTV, audio, traditional, OOH/DOOH, and emerging channels.
  • Experience leading annual planning, executive presentations, business reviews, senior client conversations, and strategic media recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of media research, audience insights, competitive analysis, reach/frequency planning, performance measurement, attribution, reporting, and optimization.
  • Ability to connect media strategy to client business goals and guide teams in developing practical, measurable, and budget-conscious tactical plans.
  • Experience partnering with Analytics, Marketing Technology, Creative, Project Management, Finance, Client Experience, and agency leadership.
  • Experience contributing to new business, organic client growth, or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Strong command of media planning tools and resources such as GA, SA360, Mediaocean, Guideline, Resonate, SQAD, Media Radar, Nielsen, eMarketer, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to develop polished, strategic, client-ready presentations.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar platforms to enhance efficiency, research, strategy, and insight development.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, storytelling, and relationship-building skills with strong executive presence.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, team development, and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple client and team priorities.
  • Healthcare experience and/or a passion for the healthcare industry is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or a related field.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
