NPD Project Manager
Unybrands was established in 2020 by a group of partners united by a shared vision: to build the leading next-generation e-commerce platform for micro-brands. Headquartered in Miami, the company has a global presence with teams in Berlin, London, New York, and China.
Unybrands acquires e-commerce businesses that sell both on and off Amazon. Once acquired, these brands are integrated into Unybrands' platform, where operations are optimized, business performance is enhanced, and expansion into new product lines and markets is driven. Currently we have acquired 30 brands including Pet Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Supplements, Baby & Juvenile, Garden & Outdoor, Sports & Fitness, and Home, Lifestyle Culinary & Arts. Through expert management and robust infrastructure, Unybrands empowers e-commerce brands to scale and thrive.
Responsibilities include - but not limited to:
- To plan and manage NPD projects through to mass production.
- Work closely with the NPD specialist to research and source new suppliers to drive expansions of product lines and maximize sales and profits. Communicate opportunities with the NPD team and make recommendations for alternate suppliers, designs and materials.
- Working with the sourcing team to build and maintain supplier relationships in regard to new product ideas. Ensuring suppliers have constant feedback and acknowledgment of new ideas and building relationships to be key partners to allow fluid R&D.
- To follow up closely on committed dates, and to highlight / escalate to management should there be any changes.
- To create and update overall project plans, executive summary of key points, call and chair meetings of project reviews; Coordinates sporadic issues and crises over quality, deliveries, technical, etc with suppliers in a way that benefits the company’s long-term interests.
- Work closely with the supply chain team for initial production and shipment of products meeting the company’s requirements by working with quality, packing, labeling and compliances team.
A successful team member will have:
- 5 years of project management experience.
- MS Project or equivalent experience, plus Jira or equivalent experience.
- Able to work with team members across departments with strong soft and technical skills.
- Experience with management reporting.
- Be able to communicate in clear and concise manner across all levels of people.
- Knowledge of and proven hands-on experience in sourcing, import, export, global logistics, NPD, continuous improvement, compliance & risk management.
- Work with international teams and suppliers.
- Technical degree and understanding of all product technical aspects. Huge plus if you have manufacturing knowledge or experience and indirect purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of existing suppliers in the market for FMCG/ hard goods products across a range of materials.
- Adaptive to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and able to collaborate with remote team members.
- Self-starter who can lead projects, achieve targets and make an impact with little structure or foundation.
- English and Chinese bilingual required. Additional language skills preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
