About the Role:

The Payroll Specialist works closely with the Payroll team and other members of the Finance and People operations teams to support the payroll, payroll tax, benefits, and expense processes. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to attention to detail, strong payroll ethics, ability to manage confidential information. This role will be based in our Phoenix office 5 days per week.

 


What You’ll Do: 

  • Prepare, audit, reconcile, and process bi-weekly US payroll
  • Regularly reconcile & audit HSA changes that impact payroll
  • Assist with auditing & back-up bi-weekly Canadian payroll
  • Process terminations & run off cycle payrolls as applicable
  • Review, address, and triage the payroll inbox
  • Download, label, and assign incoming mail
  • Assist employees with questions related to their paycheck
  • Assist with benefit questions related to their pay (401K, HSA, FSA)
  • Maintain PTO Purchase Plan
  • Provide ad hoc support and assistance to the payroll team during bi-weekly payroll and
  • monthly bonus payroll.
  • Support other departments as needed with queries related to payroll and benefits

  • Assist with process documentation as well as in-house non-standard process

  • Assist with special projects as assigned including yearend tasks

 

 

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related fields
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience
  • MS Office skills required (basic formula, Vlookup, Pivot Tables)
  • Team player with ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Workday experience a plus
  • Benefits experience a plus
  • Canadian & US cross-border payroll tax experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
