The primary focus of the Learning and Development Specialist is to consult and collaborate with business partners throughout the organization to define learning needs and build engaging and effective learning experiences.
What you’ll do:
Design and develop traditional, nontraditional, interactive and multimedia learning solutions
Draw from a diverse background of design and learning techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies to optimize learning experiences
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and subject matter experts to maintain content accuracy in existing learning content
Analyze effectiveness of current curriculum and determine future needs
Conduct learning needs assessments and gap analysis to overcome learning challenges
Design instruction that reflects an understanding of diverse learning audiences
Evaluate and improve existing instruction
Promote collaboration, partnerships and relationships among learning project participants
Define learning objectives and design solutions through curriculum development and materials design to meet the objectives
Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules
Be flexible
Bring ideas and skills to try new things within an organization that is growing
Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required
Occasional travel may be required (less than 5% of time)
Skills + Qualifications
Professional experience in Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Multimedia Production, UI Design or combination of the above
Understanding of adult learning theory and trends in eLearning
Working knowledge of tools and techniques for developing learning solutions — from LMS solutions to design solutions to media production tools
Strong client services and support skills
Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form
Excellent project management skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Good blend of technical and creative dexterity
Ability to persevere in a fast-paced dynamic environment with a sense of urgency
Ability to change tasks and direction quickly and effectively
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
Highly proficient with utilizing technical tools to develop and design training
Ability to self-guide learning for new technologies and best practices in instructional design and training industry
Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem-solving
Demonstrated understanding of excellent visual design principles
Strong ability to embrace change with a good sense of humor

Compensation
$49907 - $67441.50 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location.
