Role Summary

Vacation® is seeking a highly skilled Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs to join our dynamic team and to drive the strategic oversight of our compliance and quality initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring that all our products are made with the highest quality standards possible and in strict adherence with regulatory guidance for sunscreens. The position will work closely with the Vice President of Product Development and will be based in Los Angeles with a hybrid work arrangement.

Your Role

  • Administer comprehensive SOPs and testing protocols; mitigating potential quality risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for all products, both new and existing.
  • Oversee packaging testing protocols, ensuring all packaging meets quality standards.
  • Ensure all final formulas are compliant with Vacation’s “made without” list.
  • Monitor initial production runs (including on-site supervision) to ensure product quality and consistency standards; creating and enforcing rigorous approval processes for all subsequent production runs.
  • Lead the documentation process for all products, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and compliance.
  • Oversee all certifications, registrations, and annual renewals.
  • Ensure all product labeling and marketing claims are fully substantiated and compliant with brand and regulatory standards. Collaborating with international partners where necessary.
  • Regularly audit all internal databases and external communications (e.g., ecommerce pages, social media posts, printed materials, etc) to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information– including claims, ingredient lists, and usage directions.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for product complaints and adverse events, maintaining robust documentation, swift resolution, and correspondence (internal & external).
  • Analyze consumer complaint trends in partnership with Marketing and Customer Service teams.
  • Manage all product revisions in collaboration with the VP of Product Development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and regulatory compliance within a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Familiar with GMP standards.
  • Familiar with labeling and testing requirements for FDA-regulated OTC products.
  • Proficient in Google Suite.
  • Ability to work on-site 2-3 days per week in Los Angeles (Mid-City).
  • Ability to travel when needed for audits, line trials & first production.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • You have a sense of humor and are passionate about sun protection.
