Veterinary Surgical Specialists of OC / AVSG Internal Medicine & Urgent Care are hiring Doctor’s Assistants!

The doctor's assistant will provide support to the doctor and/or medical department in executing daily tasks and communications with clients. The Doctor's Assistant role is to provide and maintain excellent client care, great service, and a smooth flowing department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive customer service
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral
- Goal oriented
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
- Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with elevated levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities
- Intermediate math skills
- Computer literate with the ability and willingness to learn, master, and maneuver new technology as dictated by the business needs. Knowledge of Ezy Vet and Smartboards is a plus!
- Must be able to interact with all levels of staffing in a professional manner
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of college coursework, bachelor's degree preferred
- Customer service-oriented work experience of at least 5 years
- Veterinary Experience Required, with a preference of at least 5 years
- Proven record of accomplishment for punctuality, ability to perform under pressure, increased responsibilities over time, willingness to learn and take on new or challenging tasks
Compensation: $25.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience
We offer a generous $4.00/hr for a swing shift differential, $6.00/hr for overnights, or $8.00/hr weekend differential
Schedule: You schedule will be three 12-hour shifts and will reflect the doctor you are assigned with. Must be able to work some weekends and holidays.
