About the Role

As EMEA Senior Counsel at Verkada, you will work on a broad range of exciting legal issues within a fast-paced sales environment in Verkada’s new London office. You will be a founding member of the EMEA legal team and responsible for proactively assessing and managing legal risks from a commercial, privacy and product perspective. You will take a hands-on, proactive approach and be comfortable providing legal support to various business functions. You will understand how B2B deals work in a channel sales model and how privacy and data protection issues show up in commercial transactions as well as within the wider business. You will collaborate and be a part of Verkada’s legal team of rockstars, based in the US . If you enjoy building from the ground up, this role is for you! What You’ll Be Expected To Do

  • Advise Verkada’s leadership, EMEA sales teams, and marketing teams on product, privacy and contract related matters, including deal flow, contractual obligations, go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, channel relationships, international expansion across EMEA and revenue generation
  • Negotiate and draft a wide variety of technology-related B2B commercial agreements across the EMEA region (including multi-jurisdictional transactions, hardware and software sales and licensing, and distribution agreements), as well as a variety of vendor contracts
  • Manage and oversee inbound and outbound contract negotiations and drafting (such as critical supply chain contracts, day-to-day vendor contracts, reseller contracts and end user agreements)
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the EMEA marketing team on various marketing initiatives and projects
  • Work collaboratively with legal team members based in the US to ensure a consistent and effective approach to managing legal risk across the global business
  • Instruct external counsel where necessary and manage external legal costs
  • Think on your feet to negotiate and draft contracts quickly and practically in order to facilitate fast closure of end customer deals
  • Be excited to develop and maintain in-depth working knowledge of Verkada products
  • Be comfortable taking risks while still managing a reasonable compliance posture
  • Build strong relationships with people and leaders across the organization based on trust and confidence
  • Be ready to roll up your sleeves and wear multiple hats to help the company grow

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with experience in house and at a law firm
  • 6+ years PQE (preferably with 2+ yrs experience at a technology company)   
  • Strong experience negotiating and drafting B2B software and hardware commercial contracts, license agreements, wide variety of vendor contracts, and other types of commercial agreements
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Familiar with contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, such as IronClad™, and Google™ Workspace  
  • Ability to work independently but also collaborate effectively with a team
  • Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to provide practical, concise advice
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Fluent in English (French and/or German is a plus, but not necessary)
