What you’ll be doing…
As a Senior CAD Designer in the engineering department, you will be an essential member of our team, working closely with Civil Design Engineers and the Design and Engineering Manager to produce CAD drawings for installations across North America. Your focus will primarily be on creating detailed layouts for traffic intersections, facilitating the deployment of red light, speed traffic, and bus lane camera systems. Your role requires a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD software, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams and other departments to complete construction drawings and manage resubmittals in response to various state and municipal requirements.
- Prepare highly detailed drawings and plans for municipal approval across North America, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and specifications.
- Expertly utilize AutoCAD for drafting setup and best practices, serving as a resource for entry-level CAD specialists and engineering team members.
- Organize and maintain project documentation, ensuring efficient access, quality assurance, and adherence to project standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and field services teams to support project development and implementation, while conducting site surveys for accurate measurements.
- Review and incorporate feedback from permitting authorities to modify plans and facilitate compliance, minimizing resubmittals.
- Drive continuous improvement in AutoCAD procedures and practices to enhance drawing preparation and overall efficiency.

Your extensive expertise in advanced plan preparation and stringent quality assurance practices empowers you to produce accurate and compliant documentation that meets regulatory requirements for municipalities across North America. With a meticulous eye for detail, you excel in interpreting complex blueprints and engineering specifications, ensuring full compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Your exemplary organizational and analytical abilities enable you to effectively manage and maintain comprehensive project drawings and documentation, optimizing access and usability for project stakeholders. As a collaborative team leader, you cultivate strong relationships with engineering, field services, and service transition teams, facilitating clear and effective communication to drive project development and execution.
Drawing on your proactive and innovative mindset, you consistently seek to enhance processes and minimize revisions, playing a pivotal role in the successful and timely completion of projects. In a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you serve as a reliable resource and mentor to junior colleagues, promoting a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement.
You’ll need to have:
- Associate’s degree or related experience.
- 5+ years of experience in CAD Designer role or similar.
- Technical training certificate for using AutoCAD software.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience with red light cameras or traffic control systems and environment preferred.
- Using Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat Pro or similar PDF editing programs.
- Worked with Monday.com or other resource planning software.
- Designed with other Autodesk and design software such as Autodesk Docs, Google Earth Pro, AutoTurn, etc.
- Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Strong knowledge of civil drafting and procedure and tools
- Experience using Alcyon, Axsis, Service Now, or related tools.
Where you’ll be working
In this remote role, you'll have the flexibility to work from home full-time, allowing you to create an optimal work environment. You’ll also have regular check-ins and team meetings scheduled through virtual platforms to ensure collaboration and support. Occasional travel may be required for site visits and team meetings to Mesa, AZ.
