Position Overview
The M&A Analyst will be a crucial role supporting the execution of the company’s veterinary hospital acquisitions. This individual will be directly involved in managing a robust pipeline of acquisitions in key geographic areas including the evaluation of new opportunities, transaction diligence, and execution. The M&A Analyst will report to the Director of M&A or other designated party to provide insightful analysis of opportunities to the executive team including the CEO and Chief Development Officer. The ability to provide an organized and insightful analysis of acquisition opportunities as well as the ability to effectively communicate the progress and status of various deals will be a critical part of this role.
This position is at the forefront of the largest contributor of growth to VetEvolve. Since our founding, VetEvolve has grown rapidly across the mid-Atlantic with over 30 locations today and each has been added via acquisition. The successful candidate will have ample opportunity to add to their scope of responsibilities and advance as VetEvolve grows.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform detailed financial modeling, valuation analysis, and other deal-related analytics under the direction and support of the M&A Manager
- Identify growth opportunities at acquisition targets including revenue enhancements, cost reductions, and potential synergies
- Supports in the coordination of due diligence efforts with cross functional leaders and advisors both internally and externally
- Contribute to the implementation of improvements to the acquisition tracking process detailing all phases of the business development and valuation process
- Prepare deal summary presentations submitted to the executive team and sellers
- Preparation of deal flow statistics in order to improve and streamline deal flow
- Perform ad hoc analyses for operations, finance, and executive team as needed
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, accounting or transaction advisory services
- Excellent financial, modeling, and analytical skills with foundational understanding of valuation, corporate finance, and accounting concepts
- Extreme attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability with sound business judgment
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment for a rapidly scaling company
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business management, or a related field
