About the Role
The Platform Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of platform modernization initiatives across multi-cloud and enterprise environments. This role combines project management discipline with Agile leadership, ensuring that business objectives, architectural goals, and delivery milestones are aligned across technical and functional teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, enterprise platform architecture, and cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and transparency across all phases of project execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead complex platform modernization and automation projects, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.
- Apply Scrum and Agile methodologies to facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and daily standups.
- Partner closely with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Manage project lifecycles from initiation through deployment, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery.
- Monitor and manage risks, dependencies, and issues, proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including roadmaps, sprint plans, and risk registers.
- Track and report project progress using Jira, Confluence, or equivalent Agile project management tools.
- Ensure effective stakeholder communication, facilitating executive briefings and cross-team updates.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, Agile maturity, and collaborative problem-solving across delivery teams.
- Partner with technical leads to optimize platform architecture for performance, reliability, and automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 7–10 years of IT project management experience, with at least 3 years in a Scrum Master or Agile delivery capacity.
- Proven experience managing platform or infrastructure projects in enterprise or multi-cloud environments.
- Expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies, sprint planning, backlog management, and velocity tracking.
- Strong understanding of platform architecture concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and teams.
- Experience facilitating collaboration between cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Security, and Business).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification.
- Experience with AIOps, observability, or platform automation tools.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP multi-cloud environments.
- Experience supporting federal clients or regulated IT environments.
- Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices and Agile release management.
