As a critical thought partner to Product, Content, Solutions Engineering, and GTM teams, you will lead a team in crafting positioning and activation strategies, laying strong market foundations and executing go-to-market plans.

You must have technical product expertise, early-stage product launch experience, and experience scaling in a high-growth environment. You will thrive at bridging the gap between high-level commercial messaging and deeper product and documentation layers. You will have familiarity tailoring content to different audience stages, especially target prospects, enterprise customers, and the open source developer community—and be excited to grow awareness, consideration, and understanding for a game-changing software platform at the cutting edge of data, the cloud, AI, and robotics.

This role is based in NY and reports to the VP Marketing, and also works closely with the CEO/Founder.

You will:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire a growing team of product marketers.
  • Define, drive, and iterate differentiated technical messaging through market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
  • Shape data-driven product marketing strategies that align with business goals, fostering market awareness and growth. Activations may include conferences, webinars, campaigns, and/or education.
  • Develop and refine collateral such as technical blogs, demos, case studies, white papers, workshops, and presentations to educate the market, in collaboration with Content & Docs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to create and execute marketing plans for announcements and new features, in collaboration with Product & Engineering.

Ideally you have:

  • Proven experience in product marketing, particularly in early-stage and scaling tech environments.
  • A technical background with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, guiding written and visual communication strategists.
  • Expertise in competitive intelligence and market positioning, with a track record of successful product launches.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with product and engineering teams.
  • Created technical collateral around complex products.
  • Agility in a fast-moving environment, with a clear focus on long-term growth.
  • Influential, clear communication and presentation skills.

Benefits:

  • 100% covered medical/dental/vision insurance plans, commuter benefits
  • Competitive salary & equity packages
  • Reproductive Health Benefits including Fertility Benefits and Abortion Access Travel Benefits
  • 25 days paid vacation and generous holiday observances
  • One Medical Membership
  • Citi Bike membership
  • Free lunch everyday that you’re in the office
  • Paid parental leave

The starting salary for this role in the US is between $170,000 - $250,000/year. Your exact offer will vary based on a number of factors including experience level, skillset, market location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced, or more senior, than this job description as posted. In these situations, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate. In addition to cash compensation, Viam offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants, health benefits, and more.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
