Sales Development Representative (API/CPaaS)

Why this role matters:

As an outbound Business Development Representative you will be responsible for creating, identifying, and qualifying new sales opportunities. Your final goal will be to schedule meetings with qualified prospects, and pass them on to the direct sales teams as qualified opportunities.
As a Vonage API outbound Sales representative, you will be the very first point of contact a potential customer will have with Vonage and play a vital role not only in generating sales pipeline, but helping us refine sales and marketing strategy based on your interactions and successes with prospects.

There are tremendous growth opportunities within this position and team and we expect our SDRs to develop their sales careers further throughout the organization.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Conduct prospecting, lead generation, and lead qualification activities, including scheduling appointments for Account Managers through various channels such as phone/video calls, emails, and LinkedIn.
  • Utilize creative internet research and social media monitoring/messaging, including LinkedIn Navigator and other sales tools, to identify new leads aligned with our product offerings and market needs.
  • Tailor sales campaigns by researching prospects' goals, market trends, and pain points, and create customized materials such as email templates, presentations, and videos.
  • Qualify customers' needs and challenges to be able to understand where Vonage API solutions could help.
  • Gather actionable information on clients' needs and maintain detailed records in our CRM system.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, account managers, and sales leadership to ensure consistent messaging and alignment in territory strategy.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly targets for qualified appointments and new sales opportunities.

  • Previous experience in Sales Development, especially a fast-paced SaaS company, with hands-on experience in lead generation and sales research is preferred although candidates with drive and passion and keen to develop their sales careers will also be considered.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other sales research tools is an advantage.

Where you will work:

Whilst we’d ideally hire candidates close to our Atlanta or New Jersey offices, remote applications will be considered. Some travel to customers will be required.
