Materials and Process Engineering Internship

As a Materials & Process Intern on the R&D team, you will develop the processes and equipment required for understanding and advanced metallurgy processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate safely in a pilot manufacturing and R&D facility working hands-on with reactive metal powders.
  • Participate in the materials and process development efforts for an advanced metallurgy process.
  • Characterize process outputs that the inform processing, properties, structure, material relationship
  • Optimize process parameters to achieve target quality and performance requirements, study process windows and develop bounding setpoints for processes
  • Contribute to the development of core equipment technology, including development of next generation processes and equipment for production 

Responsibilities and tasks outlined are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Coursework or practical experience in materials characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to work in a laboratory setting.

Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to analysis of metallic or magnetic materials.
  • Prior experience with SEM, EDS, EBSD, or material characterization techniques.
  • Experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory setting.
