Technology Manager

This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, leading requirements gathering, aligning technology initiatives with strategic goals, and translating business needs into technical solutions. It involves managing multiple projects end-to-end—including planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and delivery—while handling escalations and ensuring timelines and budgets are met. The position also drives product roadmapping, process optimization, and the development of project management frameworks and standards
Responsibilities:
- Communicating and collaborating with business users and IT management, giving regular feedback and updates on projects.
- Lead requirements gathering efforts for complex projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Engage with business leaders to align IT initiatives with strategic objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Develop comprehensive project plans (sprints, phases), including resource allocation and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage multiple projects or products, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Handle escalations, resolve conflicts, and mitigate high-level risks.
- Work directly with developers to translate business requirements into technical requirements and functionality.
- Document, prioritize, and track requests for new functionality from business users.
- Document, prioritize, and track requests for new technical architecture from developers.
- Determine future features of products, aka product road-mapping.
- Analyze business processes for optimization and drive change management initiatives.
- Develop and implement project management frameworks and standards.
Qualification and Experience:
- 8+ years’ experience managing technology projects, performing business analysis, and/or defining product roadmaps.
- Deep knowledge of system development life cycle.
- Significant experience with multiple project management methodologies.
- Experience delivering projects with tight deadlines.
- Ability to think logically, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand how business processes and technology solutions interact.
- Ability to break down processes to their lowest level of detail, simplify and rebuild.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage expectations.
- Comfortable in a start-up environment with less structure than many banks and large corporations.
