Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Job Summary:
Ensure WWM has proper procedures and strategies in place that follow local and federal regulatory codes and guidelines to address compliance activities. Provide support to the operations team with management of documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping. This position reports to Director of Operations or Regulatory Compliance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the following programs:
- Emergency Response Plan
- Public Awareness Program
- Pipeline Integrity Program
- Operator Qualification Program
- Damage Prevention and One-Call Program
- DOT Drug and Alcohol Program
- Ensure WWM’s Operations and Maintenance Manual and Specific Operating Procedures are current
- Ensure that reoccurring scheduled maintenance is completed and documented on a timely basis
- Development and submittal of any emergency or periodic reporting obligations
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; provide reports to supervisor and other business stakeholders
- Manage all applicable documentation and record-keeping
- Review external state and federal agency audit findings and provide recommendations to internal procedures and/or compliance manuals
- Occasionally perform internal audits of site compliance activities and internal compliance programs and provide corrective measures where applicable
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements
- Communicate regularly with Operations and Engineering teams to address potential areas of risk, provide guidance and offer expertise on local or federal regulatory codes
- Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- Manage Control Room Management of the Gas Control Center, as wells and the back-up control center
- Coordinate with third party environmental contractor to ensure environmental compliance
- Work with the project execution team during the design of new project
- Review of environmental permit applications on new projects
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience in gas, oil or similar utility industry preferred
- Experience and proficiency with managing and organizing documentation and records
- Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision
- Possess written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with MS Office
