Why we're hiring:
This Product Designer plays a critical role working on our WPP Design System.
The role is a specialised role and we're interested in hearing from designers that have worked on design systems at enterprise scale. In particular, experience with AI and/or multi-platform design systems (for apps, interactive TV, VoD, chat) would be useful. The designer will collaborate with our teams in WPP locations to understand needs and push our design system forward.
What you'll be doing:
- Take full ownership of building and maintaining design systems at enterprise scale
- Conduct user research and usability testing, leveraging insights to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
- Translate requirements and user needs into flows, prototypes, components, documentation and patterns for various products and services in our platform.
- Ensure consistency with experience principles and the broader "North Star" UX vision defined by our Product Design Leads.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to ensure the feasibility and integrity of design solutions.
- Ensure design files are well-detailed and work with developers to execute accurately).
- Advocate for user-centred design principles and accessibility and usability standards across the platform, ensuring our designs are inclusive and easy to use for everyone.
What you'll need:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in UX/UI or product design with demonstrated experience leading design initiatives and projects.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in product, UX/UI design, design research, design systems usage as well as your ability to design impactful and user-centred design solutions and your contribution to complex projects.
- Expert level proficiency in leading design tools such as Figma, and collaboration tools such as Miro as well as usability testing tools.
- Deep understanding of human-centred design principles, interaction design best practices, and usability.
- Extensive experience working with and contributing to design systems.
- Strong knowledge of usability and accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
- Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills, with proven ability to articulate design decisions and complex design concepts clearly.
- Experience working in Agile teams and ability to deliver high quality designs in a fast paced environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Basic understanding of service design or ecosystem mapping.
- Experience designing for SaaS products.
- Interest in data visualization or AI-enhanced experiences.
- Additional knowledge of Usability and Accessibility Guidelines beyond basic requirements.
- Familiarity with Figma is critical and working knowledge of AI-related design-code tools is a plus.
