Databridge is our shared data layer, connecting our core (“hero”) products across domains such as Finance, Investment systems, and HR into a unified data foundation. Together with Master Data Management (MDM), it enables scalable, integrated, and reliable data across WPP Media.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling the reliable, scalable, and secure operation of our data platform, supporting both Databridge and MDM. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, and product teams to ensure that infrastructure, pipelines, and deployments are automated, stable, and efficient.

This role is key to ensuring that our shared data platform can scale globally, onboard new markets efficiently, and support continuous delivery of data products.

 

What you'll be doing:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data platform components (Databridge & MDM)
  • Manage and optimize infrastructure and environments (cloud platforms, data pipelines, and integration layers)
  • Ensure reliable deployment, monitoring, and performance of data platform services
  • Support automation of data workflows, infrastructure provisioning, and release processes
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks across the data platform
  • Ensure security, access control, and compliance across environments
  • Support onboarding of new markets and systems into Databridge through scalable DevOps practices

Additional Responsibilities

  • Improve deployment speed, reliability, and rollback capabilities
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of platform and pipeline issues
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure, pipelines, and operational processes
  • Contribute to defining DevOps standards and best practices within Data & Measure
  • Enable efficient collaboration between development, data, and operations teams

What you'll need:

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar roles
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP also relevant)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, YAML pipelines, Git)
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred, ARM, Bicep)
  • Solid Microsoft Azure experience, ideally including:
    • Azure Container Registry (ACR)
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
    • API Management (APIM)
    • Application Gateway
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Application Insights, Log Analytics)
  • Understanding of data pipelines and working closely with data engineering teams
  • Knowledge of security, access management, and compliance, including secure environment design
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with data platforms such as Databricks
  • Understanding of MDM or enterprise data environments
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with Terraform across multiple cloud providers (AWS/GCP)
  • Experience supporting multi-environment / multi-solution deployments
  • Understanding of authentication and authorisation approaches
  • Exposure to large-scale, global platform setups
