Client President
About the Role - As Client President at WPP Media South Africa, you are the most senior client leader within the business . Your core mission is to build exceptional, long -term relationships with key client s, drive organic growth, retain clients, and ensure the strategic alignment of WPP's Media solutions with clients' business goals. You will lead multi -disciplinary teams to deliver insight -driven, high -impact work that demonstrates the value of media in accelerating client success. This is a client -centric, commercially focused role that prioritises client leadership, influence, operations & innovation.
Key Focus Areas
Client Leadership -Build and maintain deep relationships with senior client stakeholders, leading end -to - end delivery across planning, activation, and measurement.
Client Growth -Identify new and incremental growth opportunities; bring innovation and market -relevant solutions to drive client business performance.
Client Communications Strategy -Craft and oversee clear, data -driven communication strategies that foster client trust, retention, and engagement.
Client Operations -Optimize service delivery by ensuring right -sized, capable teams and effective use of tools, while integrating client needs into broader capability development.
Core Responsibilities
Client Leadership • Serve as the senior executive across your assigned client portfolio, acting as a trusted strategic partner. • Lead the orchestration of planning, activation, and measurement to ensure flawless delivery of the client scope of work (SOW). • Ensure the right deployment of multi -disciplinary talent across all client accounts. • Guide and mentor Client Partners to elevate their impact and strengthen client relationships. • Prepare bi -monthly client risk and opportunity analysis reports.
Client Growth • Identify and drive organic growth opportunities by understanding client ambitions and aligning WPP Media & WPP capabilities. • Collaborate with the Growth team on strategic pursuits for existing clients and New Business opportunities. • Lead the development of forward -thinking, in-market media strategies to unlock long -term client value. • Drive client revenue growth and diversification through integration with WPP's broader ecosystem.
Client Communications Strategy • Build and implement structured, insight -driven communication plans tailored to each client's priorities and business outcomes. • Own client engagement strategies, including strategic reviews, planning sessions, and roadmap presentations. • Lead client retention efforts, overseeing satisfaction plans, issue resolution, and relationship health tracking. • Ensure all client -facing communications are aligned with WPP Media’s strategic positioning and value proposition.
Client Operations • Lead client growth planning, including onboarding, account planning, and team structuring. • Ensure high -performing, appropriately resourced teams are aligned to each client ’s needs. • Promote adoption of the OMS (Operating Management System) across your portfolio . • Contribute to the product roadmap by surfacing recurring client needs and problem statements. • Uphold compliant and professional client communication practices across the organisation.

Candidate Profile Experience & Skills • 10+ years in senior client leadership roles within media, advertising, or marketing communications. • Proven success in building and growing client relationships. • Strong understanding of data, tech, media strategy, consumer insights, and integrated communications. • Skilled at navigating complex client organisations and aligning media to broader business goals. • Comfortable leading senior client conversations on growth, performance, and transformation. • Executive Engagements: Lead quarterly executive business reviews (QBRs) for all top -tier clients to the local EXCO team and to clients.
Client Growth
• Organic Growth: Deliver 10-20% organic revenue growth YoY from existing clients .
• Revenue Expansion: Achieve a minimum 20% YoY increase in product and service adoption across client portfolios (e.g. advanced tools, strategy, measurement solutions).
• Pitch Conversion Rate: Support and contribute to a 60%+ pitch win rate where involved.
• Build a scalable pitch read team for all new business pitches. Client Communications Strategy
• Strategic Plan Adoption: 100% of top -tier clients to have annual strategic plans and roadmaps in place.
