Senior Business Analyst (short-term project)
Xebia is a global AI-first, digital transformation, and engineering partner. With over 25 years of experience and a team of 5,000 professionals across 16 countries, we help organizations design and build scalable products, platforms, and data-driven solutions.
We specialize in Artificial Intelligence, Data and Cloud, Intelligent Automation, and Digital Products, combining deep technical expertise with a strong focus on engineering excellence and a people-first culture.
In the CEE region, we’re a team of nearly 1,000 experts delivering modern applications, data platforms, and AI solutions for clients such as McLaren, Aviva, Deloitte, Spotify, Disney, ING, UPS, Tesco, Truecaller, AllSaints, Volotea, Schmitz Cargobull, Allegro, InPost, and many, many more. We work with leading technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, and Snowflake, and combine strong engineering culture with a consulting mindset and a continuous focus on growth and knowledge sharing.
You will be:
- leading and structuring Discovery phases, turning an initial business need, problem or opportunity into a clear understanding of the scope, requirements, assumptions, risks and potential solution directions,
- defining the business analysis approach for each project by selecting appropriate methods, setting the direction of analytical work and ensuring alignment with business objectives,
- planning, preparing and facilitating workshops and discovery sessions with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, UX/UI Designers, Architects and engineering teams,
- guiding discussions involving different perspectives and priorities, helping stakeholders resolve ambiguity, reach alignment and make informed decisions,
- identifying business needs and translating them into structured requirements, user flows, business rules, process models and preliminary backlog items,
- identifying and validating key unknowns, assumptions, dependencies and risks early in the project to reduce uncertainty before implementation begins,
- analysing the current state and collaborating with stakeholders and delivery teams to define the desired future state and potential solution direction,
- coordinating collaboration between business and technology stakeholders, ensuring that proposed solutions address genuine business needs and remain technically feasible,
- working closely with UX/UI Designers and Architects to connect business requirements with coherent user journeys and solution architecture,
- co-creating project scope, delivery plans and roadmaps while balancing business priorities with technical, operational and delivery constraints,
- supporting estimation and delivery planning by ensuring that the scope, assumptions, dependencies and open questions are sufficiently understood,
- clearly communicating findings, recommendations and decisions to both business and technical audiences, including senior stakeholders,
- taking ownership of analytical outcomes and ensuring the consistency of requirements and decisions across project workstreams,
- using AI-assisted tools where appropriate to accelerate analytical activities, including synthesising workshop inputs, structuring requirements, analysing documentation, identifying gaps, preparing artefacts and supporting backlog creation – while critically reviewing and validating generated outputs.
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support a new, complex IT initiative delivered by geographically distributed, cross-functional teams. In this role, you will define the analytical approach, work closely with business and technical stakeholders, and help shape solutions that meet business objectives while remaining technically feasible.
This is a fully remote, short-term project with an estimated duration of approximately 3 months.
Your profile:
- extensive experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner, preferably gained in complex digital or IT projects,
- strong hands-on experience in Discovery, including planning and leading activities from initial problem framing through requirements and solution definition to estimation and delivery planning,
- excellent workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to design and lead effective sessions involving cross-functional groups, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders,
- strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and guide groups towards concrete decisions,
- proven ability to work effectively with incomplete information and high levels of uncertainty, progressively transforming ambiguity into a structured scope and actionable outcomes,
- demonstrated ability to select and adapt business analysis methods and techniques to the needs and maturity of a project rather than relying on a single predefined methodology,
- practical experience in requirements elicitation, process modelling, user-flow analysis, defining business rules, backlog creation and scope definition,
- the ability to identify dependencies, assumptions, risks and gaps across business processes, systems and project workstreams,
- solid technical understanding and the ability to collaborate effectively with Architects, Developers, QA Engineers and other technical roles,
- experience working closely with UX/UI teams and translating business needs into coherent user journeys and solution concepts,
- experience supporting estimation, roadmap creation and the transition from Discovery into delivery,
- confidence in presenting findings, recommendations and proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders,
- familiarity with AI tools and AI-assisted ways of working, or a willingness to actively use them to improve the efficiency and quality of analytical work,
- the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar business domains, processes and terminology,
- an independent, proactive and goal-oriented approach, combined with strong ownership and leadership skills,
- the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments and within geographically distributed, cross-functional teams,
- fluent English,
- practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot Chat, or similar) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in analysis and software delivery.
Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
Nice to have:
-
experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily analytical and documentation work,
-
interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. automation of analysis tasks, AI-supported documentation, or workflow optimization), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
