Director, Manufacturing Facility Development - Thailand

Position Overview:

As the Director, Manufacturing Facility Development, you will be the key owner for construction of an optical manufacturing facility in Thailand.  You will facilitate the construction of this facility in line with Zenni’s position as a manufacturer of the future incorporating integrated manufacturing, 4.0 manufacturing philosophies, automated manufacturing lines and flows alongside LEAN principles. 

Reporting to the CTO and Global General Manager, you will partner closely with the Production Design team to build out the design layout of our manufacturing facility.

What we want you to own in this role

• Lead the planning and execution of the construction project for Zenni's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Thailand, ensuring alignment with the company's vision of pioneering future manufacturing methods and technologies
• Incorporate new and leading manufacturing technologies and principles into the facility's design, optimizing layout and workflow to enhance efficiency and productivity from the ground up
• Navigate local laws, regulations, and permitting processes to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance throughout all phases of construction, maintaining a proactive approach to address any challenges that may arise
• Oversee the implementation of automated manufacturing lines and lean principles within the facility's construction, integrating these features seamlessly to support agile and cost-effective production processes
• Drive the development of a facility blueprint that reflects Zenni's commitment to innovation and sustainability, with a focus on adaptable infrastructure to accommodate future growth and evolution
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to manage construction timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, prioritizing transparency and communication to deliver a world-class manufacturing facility on schedule and within budget

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in overseeing large-scale construction projects, preferably within the manufacturing industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing the construction of complex industrial facilities, demonstrating expertise in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control
• Extensive knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Thailand, with experience navigating government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success and resolve issues promptly
• Understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Proficiency speaking English, Thai, and Mandarin or Cantonese
• Unwavering attention to detail and organizational finesse
• Experience with the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and automation systems to ensure the facility aligns with modern industry standards and practices
• LEAN, Six Sigma and/or ISO certification are highly desired.
