Position Summary: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic visionary and the technological helm of the organization. Charged with the orchestration of IT operations, applications, data, and infrastructure, the CIO ensures alignment with business goals to enhance efficiency, productivity, and security. This executive role is crucial for advancing data protection, compliance, and operational excellence, enabling scalable growth alongside the company’s ambitions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Craft and execute an IT strategy that is innovative and aligns with the company’s business objectives, prioritizing initiatives for optimal impact.
  • Security Governance: Direct the Information Security, Application Security and Cloud Security programs, embedding security into IT operations, development life cycles and Cloud operations.
  • Business Applications Oversight: Develop strategies for business applications that support the company’s goals, including ERP and CRM systems, collaboration tools, and BI solutions.
  • Executive Excellence: Demonstrate leadership qualities such as strategic change management, people leadership, results orientation, business acumen, and coalition building.

Core Functions:

  • Security Architecture: Design and manage a secure IT and cloud architecture that mitigates threats while enabling business agility.
  • Incident Management: Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring swift action and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Security Awareness: Foster a culture of security awareness and ensure regular training on best practices and threat intelligence.
  • Vendor Security Oversight: Assess and manage third-party security to meet the company’s stringent standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and report on key security metrics to assess the effectiveness of the security program and guide improvements.
  • IT Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manage risks through a comprehensive IT Risk Management program.
  • Collaborative Strategy: Collaborate with other executives to integrate security into business strategies

 

Business Applications Leadership:

  • Application Strategy: Formulate and implement a strategy for business applications that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • ERP and CRM Management: Oversee ERP and CRM systems to streamline operations and enhance customer relationships.
  • Collaboration and BI Tools: Ensure effective collaboration tools and BI solutions are in place for optimal communication and data-driven decision-making.
  • Application Lifecycle Management: Manage the procurement, development, deployment, and maintenance of business applications.
  • Innovation and Integration: Identify and integrate innovative applications that provide competitive advantages and operational efficiencies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the budget for business applications, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading change, managing people, and achieving results in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of IT architecture, security, and infrastructure with a track record of implementing strategic IT initiatives.
  • Experience as a public company CIO and/or guiding a company though an IPO would be a plus
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align IT with business objectives, manage resources effectively, and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex IT concepts to a diverse audience and driving organizational goals.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Cybersecurity, Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
