Our products are built on Windows .NET and SQL Server and managed in AWS. Our web UX stack is built on jQuery and some areas use AngularJS. Our middle tier is in C# and we build our infrastructure on an extensive set of Restful APIs. We build native iOS and Android apps, and are starting to leverage Flutter and Dart. For select infrastructure components, we use Python extensively and use Tableau for analytics dashboards. We use Redshift, Aurora, Redis Elasticache, Lambda, and other AWS products to build and manage our complete service, moving towards serverless components. We deal with billions of API calls, millions of records in databases, and terabytes of data to be managed with all services we build that must run 24x7 at 99.99% availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Scalability and Reliability: Develop strategies to ensure the product can scale effectively to meet growing user demands. Collaborate with SRE on capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies to maintain high availability and reliability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with the Leadership team and provide regular updates on performance metrics, issues, and improvements. Be able to communicate and work with customers on ongoing performance issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in .NET: Extensive experience with .NET Framework and .NET Core, including application performance tuning, memory management, microservices architecture
- Advanced SQL Server Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database design.
- AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS services related to performance monitoring and optimization, including CloudWatch, RDS, and EC2. Familiarity with AWS performance best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing a small team of performance engineers. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and motivate team members.
- Design and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex performance issues and develop effective solutions. Should be able to evaluate designs for scale and offer solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
