
Compliance Specialist

WHO YOU ARE:
Compliance Specialists are experienced and proficient, providing outstanding service to internal and external customers. They act as a liaison between Zinnia and client carriers providing two-way communication for privacy breaches, potential fraud, complaints, and subpoenas. Compliance Specialists support audit testing and coordination, regulatory reporting requests and act in a leadership and mentoring role for Compliance Technicians. Specialists take ownership, conduct comprehensive research and analysis, and determine the best resolution for the customer. Additionally, Specialists are relied upon as a subject matter expert and a resource for others to answer questions, provide assistance, and act as a point of escalation when required
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead the review of compliance notifications and be able to assess the impact upon Zinnia processes and client needs.
- Lead and coordinate audits and confidently and effectively discuss business processes with clients
- Lead and organize client audits of Zinnia business operations, practices, and policies
- Resolve any escalated customer complaints and requests for regulatory information
- Fulfill client requests for documentation within specific timeframes.
- Facilitate client ad-hoc report requests based upon specified requirements.
- Participate and support the Zinnia SOC 1 audit for business control walkthroughs and testing selections, while providing continuing support for your assigned Client(s).
- Compliance team process review to enhance effective audit processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree required or high school diploma and three plus years of experience in financial services, life insurance, annuity and mutual funds.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in research and related documentation.
- Quality focus and high attention to detail.
- Ability to ascertain and effectively deliver upon client needs, including complex and unique issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong work ethic and customer service focus.
- Independent drive for continuous learning
- Advanced skills in excel.
BONUS POINTS:
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple functional and/or performance areas. Performance areas may include annuity administration, distribution administration, life insurance administration, delivery services, new business and customer service
- Results-driven; self-motivated individual possessing organizational and time management skills.
- Earned LOMA ACS, preferred, but not required
- Experience in technical training for technology areas such as business analysis or programming.
- Six Sigma working knowledge and completed courses
- Software knowledge and demonstrated ability
