The Role 

We're looking for a leader to join us as a People Operations Manager. You will report into the Director of People. This is a Full-Time Remote opportunity based in the United States, with a preference for candidates in Colorado. In this role you will focus on Benefits & Leave to manage employee benefits and leave administration across multiple states. This role is essential in ensuring our team members employee experience with access to well-managed benefits and execution on a clear, compliant leave process.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Administer Benefits Programs Across multiple states and employee populations – Oversee health, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefits, ensuring they are delivered accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage Leave of Absence (LOA) Processes – Handle state-specific leave requirements, including FMLA, disability, paid family leave, and other statutory programs, ensuring compliance and smooth employee experiences.
  • Ensure Compliance – Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local benefits and leave laws, ensuring policies align with legal requirements.
  • Optimize Processes – Identify and implement improvements to streamline benefits and leave administration, enhancing efficiency and accessibility.
  • Reporting and Analysis – Track and analyze leave trends, benefits utilization, and costs to provide insights and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Cross Team Collaboration – Work closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to maintain seamless benefits and leave operations.
  • Support Employees – Serve as the go-to expert for benefits and leave-related inquiries, ensuring employees understand their options and receive timely assistance.

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in benefits and leave administration, with experience in a specialized role managing multi-state leave programs.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, disability, and paid leave programs across multiple states.
  • Experience with benefits administration, compliance, and vendor management.
  • Bonus points for experience in healthcare or a high-growth startup environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and leave management systems with expertise in process optimization and system implementation.
  • Self-starter with ability to drive execution and processes with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to advise employees and leadership on leave policies.
  • Certification in benefits or leave administration (e.g., CEBS,CBP, GBA) is a plus.
  • Preference for candidate to be based in Colorado.

This is a Full-Time position with an estimated annual salary of $74,000 - $90,000 + annual bonus and benefits.
