THE ROLE
AG1 is seeking a 6-month contractor to provide quality control oversight at our external co-manufacturing sites. This contract position will be responsible for managing daily quality compliance, ensuring timely product release, reviewing non-conforming materials, and conducting audits. The role will work closely with Manufacturing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, external contract manufacturers, contract packers, 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) centers, and suppliers to maintain AG1’s high standards for product quality, safety, and compliance.
This contractor role requires 40 hours per week and is ideal for a seasoned quality control professional who can quickly step in, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive quality assurance initiatives
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Management of a Material Review Board to facilitate dispositions around various quality incidents.
- Manage disposal of Non Conforming, Expiring, Damaged and Returned Products at 3PLs globally.
- Facilitate the testing of Finished Good samples which includes NSF, Informed Sport and Food Safety
- Oversee and implement quality control measures at all AG1 external co-manufacturing sites.
- Assist in analyzing consumer complaints to drive improvements at contract manufacturers.
- Work cross-functionally to enforce quality agreements with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Assess contract manufacturers and 3PLs for suitability, compliance, and readiness to meet AG1 quality requirements.
- Conduct daily quality control activities, ensuring products meet company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain records of quality control checks, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Audit contract manufacturer food safety and quality activities and conduct traceability tests.
- Review and approve production samples, sensory evaluations, and Finished Goods Certificates of Analysis.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting production quality
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of experience in food or dietary supplement manufacturing, preferably in a third-party certified (NSF, SQF, ISO) environment.
- 5+ years in quality control production management within a CPG environment.
- Strong knowledge of GFSI, FSMA, 21 CFR 110, 111, and 117.
- Experience implementing quality programs for contract manufacturers.
- PCQI or SQF Practitioner certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced contract environment.
