Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Company & Mission:
Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) and now expanding into Tulsa, OK. Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.
AGILE is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who is responsible for delivering high quality hardware with stringent requirements through design, prototyping, development, and production. Aerospace experience is not required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and growth opportunities for more junior engineers.
- Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality assurance to translate design specifications into manufacturable products.
- Conduct process capability assessments and risk analyses to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as process instructions, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven methodologies to monitor and analyze manufacturing performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support prototyping, development, and transition to production efforts.
- Champion initiatives related to automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Maintain a culture that values the input of technicians and machinists, ensuring their voices are heard in the design process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Manufacturing, with a proven track record of leading manufacturing process development and improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) systems.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Design and use of assembly and gaging fixtures
- GD&T
- Development and deployment of automated manufacturing systems
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP
- Familiarity with CAM software
- High-rate manufacturing
- Familiarity with hazardous materials and associated safeguards

Salary range: $90,000 - $136,000
