Head of Talent Acquisition
Akido is rebuilding the healthcare experience from the ground up. Through early interventions designed around social determinants of health (SDoH), world-class care focused on chronic disease, and human-centered technology, we believe we can build a healthcare model that allows for all patients to live their fullest lives. We are a fast-growing, impact-focused, Y Combinator company created out of the University of Southern California’s D-Health Lab with the idea that empowering government, healthcare, and nonprofit services with population-based data could help usher in a new era of preventive public health. Today we are building a full stack medical network that leverages our predictive capabilities to provide a frictionless experience for both our patients and care providers.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to build and scale a high-performing talent acquisition function from the ground up. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and working closely with hiring managers, FP&A, and HR, this person will transform our lightweight recruiting processes into an engine that can support the rapid growth of a 1000-person organization. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our recruiting machine—currently run through Greenhouse and a network of hiring managers and part-time recruiters—and turn it into a scalable, efficient, and candidate-centric function. You’ll have the autonomy to shape the future of talent at our company and the resources to grow a team as needed.
What you’ll do
- Own and evolve our full-cycle recruiting function, from strategy through execution, across technical, clinical, and business roles
- Define and continuously improve recruiting processes, systems (Greenhouse), workflows, and metrics to ensure efficiency and quality
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce plans, prioritize open roles, and deliver exceptional hiring outcomes
- Work with FP&A to forecast recruiting demand and ensure recruiting plans align with headcount budgets and timelines
- Collaborate with the HR Manager and Chief of Staff to integrate recruiting with onboarding, compensation benchmarking, and workforce planning
- Create and implement strategies to increase candidate quality, reduce time-to-fill, and improve the candidate experience
- Build and manage a flexible recruiting team over time using a mix of in-house, RPO, and contract resources to match hiring demands
- Develop and maintain sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill and high-impact roles, leveraging both inbound and outbound approaches
- Track, analyze, and report on recruiting metrics to leadership and iterate based on data and feedback
- Champion our employer brand and ensure consistent, values-aligned messaging across all candidate touch-points
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in recruiting leadership roles (8+ years overall recruiting exp)
- Experience leading recruiting for clinical roles OR enterprise SAAS type tech companies
- Experience recruiting in an agency AND in-house preferred
- Proven track record of building or significantly improving recruiting processes and infrastructure
- Experience owning and managing an ATS (Greenhouse experience strongly preferred)
- Relationships with contract recruiting resources including contingency firms, sourcers, and RPOs
- Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and operating in a startup environment
- Deeply aligned with our mission and excited to help build the future of healthcare delivery
Benefits
- Stock-options package
- Health benefits include medical, dental and vision
- 401K
- Long-term disability
- Unlimited PTO
- Life insurance
- Paid Leave Program
Salary range
$170,000 - $200,000 USD
