We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in interior structures for EV projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing vehicle interior components, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural integrity to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop automotive interior structures such as dashboards, center consoles, door panels, seating frames, and other structural components.

Utilize CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) to create 3D models and 2D drawings.

Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA and tolerance stack-ups, to ensure structural integrity and performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and suppliers, to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.

Support prototype development, testing, and validation of interior components.

Ensure compliance with industry standards (SAE, FMVSS, ISO) and customer specifications.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives for weight reduction, sustainability, and cost savings.

Document design changes and maintain accurate records in PLM systems.

Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide engineering solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in automotive interior structural design.

Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.

Knowledge of materials (plastics, composites, metals) and manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, welding, etc.).

Experience with DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles.

Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Experience in lightweight material applications and sustainable design.

Familiarity with CAE tools for structural analysis.

Prior experience with supplier coordination and product launch processes.
Salary Range: $110,000-130,000
