Quality Test Engineer II (aerospace and medical devices)

Summary:   The Quality Tester’s main job is to execute tests according to plan and deliver results to stakeholders on applicable test data sheets. They may be asked to assist in verification planning, report writing, and populating the traceability matrix.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks may be assigned as required. Management may modify, change or add to the duties of this description at any time without notice. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Review test protocols and provide feedback within the scope of personal expertise.
  • Execute protocols and support creation of test reports.
  • Identify test protocol changes as necessary during the testing process.
  • Present potential issues or discrepancies found during testing to development team for review.
  • Organize test data for presentation
  • Participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Follow design control and configuration management procedures.
  • Participate in engineering test builds.
  • Analyze problems in a simple design, process, and test development.
  • Investigate failures seen within the product for root cause and find remedies to those issues.
  • Adhere to ALTEN Technology and/or customer quality management system processes.

 

Supervisory Needs and Responsibilities:

  • Moderate supervision: Individual will receive regular direction, guidance, and feedback from a supervisor and may be required to seek approval or input before making certain decisions or taking specific actions.

              

Minimum Qualifications Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Two-year degree from an accredited technical school, or two years completed in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Two years’ experience in an engineering test role
  • Two additional years’ experience in an engineering test role may be substituted for the higher education requirement above

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability preferred. Experience or training in software test a plus.

 

Language Ability: Ability to create, read, analyze, and interpret documents with specific, technical content. Familiarity with good documentation practices to record test results effectively and unambiguously.

 

Reasoning Ability: May be required to participate in Root Cause Analysis

 

Computer Skills: Sufficient experience with computers, software applications, and technical writing to be able to read and execute written test procedures efficiently and report results. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems as well as the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

 

Certificates and Licenses: None required

 

Other Skills/Abilities/Specifications: Experience working within a quality management system and/or a regulated environment. Fundamental understanding of the role of quality in product development. Familiarity with testing in aviation and medical device development.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment: Office and lab / assembly environment (mechanical and electrical)

Location: on-site in Westminster, CO

Salary Range: $65K-$85K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
