ABOUT THE ROLE

ALX Africa is seeking a motivated and passionate Learning Team Intern to support learners as they progress through their ALX programs, from enrollment to graduation. The hub community and operations intern will play a critical role in enhancing the learner experience by providing consistent engagement, guidance, and support, while collaborating with the wider team to ensure program success. This is an in person position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide timely support and guidance to learners throughout their ALX program journey
  • Assist with onboarding activities to help learners successfully start their courses
  • Track learner progress, identify challenges, and proactively offer solutions
  • Support data collection and reporting on learner milestones and program outcomes
  • Facilitate communications and engagement campaigns across multiple channels
  • Collaborate with mentors, program managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate learner support
  • Assist with organizing learning events, webinars, or workshops to drive community engagement
  • Contribute ideas to improve learner experience processes and systems
  • Any other roles assigned to assist in the learner or larger community engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with common digital tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
  • Data analysis skills to interpret learner attendance and progress report

Preferable

  • Previous experience in education support, customer service, or learner engagement
  • Experience managing social media communities or digital learning platforms
  • Basic understanding of program/project management tools
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE

This is an in-person internship position.

WORK HOURS

The required work hours are 40 hours per week
