The Role:

As the Director, Product - Data at Apollo.io, you will lead the charge in managing and expanding our industry-leading data product, which includes a database of over 200 million people, 50 million companies, and hundreds of data points for each entity. Our data product is highly regarded, with a 4.8-star rating on G2 and over 6,000 reviews, and you will be pivotal in maintaining and elevating this status. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing a robust data strategy that drives the continuous enrichment, accuracy, and differentiation of our data products. You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for all people data products, ensuring that Apollo.io continues to deliver unparalleled value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • People Data Strategy Development
    • Develop and execute a robust strategy for acquiring, enriching, and maintaining high-quality people data, including contact information, email, phone numbers, and other relevant attributes.
    • Build comprehensive data waterfalls that ensure data is continuously updated, accurate, and enriched to meet customer needs.
    • Differentiate Apollo.io’s people data products in a crowded market by leveraging unique data sources, innovative enrichment techniques, and advanced quality metrics.
  • Product Management
    • Own the product roadmap for people data products, aligning with overall business objectives and customer needs.
    • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and analytics teams to prioritize features that enhance data quality, timeliness, and comprehensiveness.
    • Define and manage product requirements, user stories, and success criteria focused on creating industry-leading people data solutions.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis
    • Conduct deep market research to understand trends, customer pain points, and competitive offerings in the people data space.
    • Identify and exploit opportunities to position Apollo.io’s data products as market leaders through innovation and strategic partnerships.
    • Benchmark against industry standards to ensure that Apollo.io’s people data products set the bar for accuracy, coverage, and usability.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Partner with sales, marketing, customer success, and other internal teams to ensure product alignment with business needs and customer expectations.
    • Communicate the product vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and alignment across the organization.
    • Act as the go-to expert for all people data product initiatives, providing insights and guidance to drive success.
  • Data Quality and Governance
    • Implement rigorous data governance frameworks to ensure the highest levels of data integrity, compliance, and accuracy.
    • Lead initiatives to continuously improve data quality, including accuracy, freshness, and comprehensiveness.
    • Establish and monitor KPIs that track the performance of data enrichment processes and the overall health of the data ecosystem.
