Position Overview

We are seeking a Surveyor/Drafter Technician to join our team in Rockville, MD. This position plays a key role in supporting facility space management by conducting field surveys, updating CAD drawings, and ensuring compliance with BOMA standards and client policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong AutoCAD skills, experience in space planning, and attention to detail to ensure accurate facility records and support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Survey and update Space Partition Plan CAD drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit in accordance with BOMA standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct field surveys and building measurements for new construction, renovations, or annual assessments.
  • Update drawings from redlined markups and maintain accurate space partition records.
  • Maintain and update space data records for property, buildings, and rooms, reflecting renovations, new construction, or acquisitions.
  • Review and update space assignments in accordance with client policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain room number plans aligned with client requirements.
  • Triage Help Desk tickets and respond to requests to update drawings and room number assignments.
  • Maintain and update Space Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2022 (and earlier Architectural Desktop); Revit Architecture 2022 preferred.
  • 1–3 years of AutoCAD experience managing facility drawings and data with a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 3+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in AutoCAD facility production work and development/maintenance of AutoCAD drawing management standards.
  • Familiarity with applying BOMA standards in facility drawings.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools (tape measure, electronic measuring devices).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience triaging and managing Help Desk tickets.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $73,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
