A-TEK is seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our Corporate Team!  The Senior Contracts Manager is a hands-on individual contributor with deep expertise across the full contract management lifecycle — from RFP review through award, execution, and closeout. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, profitability, and strategic growth for A-TEK.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience negotiating and administering complex government contracts and subcontracts and serving as the primary interface with Government Contracting Officers and teaming partners. They will also be responsible for implementing innovative contracting strategies, mitigating risks, and ensuring that A-TEK’s business and compliance objectives are consistently met.

The Senior Contracts Manager will administer contracts and develop/maintain internal business relationships at the project and program level, and external business relationships with government Contracting Officers and Subcontractor points of contract. The candidate will execute contracting strategies, serve as primary POC for contract management for internal programs; assess contract risk and mitigation strategies, and interact with legal counsel as required; contribute to new and innovative business contracting solutions for an emerging business; and support business planning activities. The candidate must be independent, an executor of competing priorities, a self-starter, and both tactically and strategically focused on the correlation between overall contract management success and the overall success of the business. This position is primarily remote with occasional on-site in our McLean, VA Corporate office. 

Key functions of the position:

  • Experience with federal government statutory and regulatory guidelines and regulations that govern federal procurements.
  • Primary subject matter expert (SME) and corporate liaison in negotiating, administering, modifying, reporting, auditing, and closeout of awarded contracts (Federal, State, Commercial), single/multiple award GWACs, BPAs, and resulting task orders.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer various contract-related agreements (e.g., Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA’s), Teaming Agreements (TA’s), Contractor Teaming Agreements (CTA’s), Subcontract Agreements, Modifications) and the interpretation of contractual language and provisions.
  • Support A-TEK’s operating groups in collaboration with projection control and finance, to ensure compliance with contract requirements, terms and conditions, and operating practices to ensure successful contract execution and organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with CFO to review pricing requirements, develop pricing strategies, and assess pricing risk, to ensure contracts’ financial performance success.
  • Experience with drafting narratives for proposal business volumes and related documentation ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Serve as the primary interface between A-TEK and the awarding Federal Agency Contracting Officer, or Prime Contractor Contracts/Subcontracts Manager, for contractual issues, including developing timely and actionable solutions that balance the interests of both A-TEK and its customers; monitor assigned programs for contract terms; support contract and financial tracking/reporting.
  • Work directly with technical and program management staff to facilitate the resolution of any contract and/or program issues and serve as SME to senior management on all procurement and contracting-related matters.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Program Teams, Operations, Project Control, Pricing, Business Development, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, and Government contracting personnel.
  • Ensure accuracy and periodic update of company profile for all required federal databases.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s plus 12 years of experience or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience
  • 10 years of experience in contract negotiation/administration, specializing in government contracts, procurement, and/or contract management.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Supplemental Regulations, and experience working with the CFO in preparing Cost and Business Management proposal volumes.
  • Experience with government solicitation types (i.e., RFP, RFQ, RFI’s, Sources Sought Notices) and managing all forms of government contract types (Cost-type, FFP, T&M/Labor hour, ID/IQ contracts, GWACs including GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS))
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Joint Ventures (JVs), including drafting JV agreements, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations, and managing contractual obligations across partner organizations.
  • Working knowledge and experience reviewing and understanding pricing, representations and certifications, and subcontracting issues.
  • Experience in developing, modifying, analyzing, and negotiating contract documents including but not limited to, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements (TAs), CTA’s, and Subcontract Agreements.
  • Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint Contracts Module (or similar ERP system) — required.
  • Effective communications skills (verbal and written)
