We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Manager, Legal Operations to join our dynamic global Legal & Compliance (“L & C”) team. This role is essential in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and enabling the L & C department to scale and deliver high-impact results across the business. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of L & C department operations and stakeholder management in a complex, international environment. 

The desired candidate is someone with a strong orientation to details, passion for organization, strong multi-tasking capability, ability to make critical decisions in a timely fashion, and strong capability to manage stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development:
    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 3 Legal Assistants, fostering growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution:
    Partner with the Chief legal & Compliance Officer (“CLCO”) and L & C leadership to define and implement the legal department’s strategic roadmap, including goal setting, KPI tracking, and resource planning.
  • Process Optimization:
    Lead initiatives to streamline legal workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure operational consistency across global legal teams.
  • Technology & Tools:
    Evaluate, implement, and manage legal technology solutions (CLM, matter management, document automation, knowledge management, etc.) to enhance department productivity and collaboration.
  • Financial Management:
    Oversee the legal department budget, vendor relationships, spend management, and forecasting to drive cost control and maximize value.
  • Vendor and Outside Counsel Management:
    Develop and enforce outside counsel guidelines, drive law firm performance reviews, and negotiate fee arrangements.
  • Data & Reporting:
    Design and deliver reports and dashboards to provide transparency into L & C team performance, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Knowledge Management & Training:
    Build and maintain scalable knowledge-sharing frameworks and coordinate training programs to ensure the L&C team and business partners stay aligned on best practices and regulatory updates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Act as a strategic business partner to Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, and other functions to align legal processes with broader corporate initiatives.

 

 

About your skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or legal-related education a plus.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or management consulting in a global corporate environment.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing legal tech solutions.
  • Proven people management experience, ideally leading legal support or administrative teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing global projects and people in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal department financial management, vendor management, and process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adept at influencing and collaborating across a matrixed, multicultural organization.
  • Certification in Legal Operations (e.g., CLOC, ACC Legal Ops) or project management (PMP, Lean Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
