About the Role
Atwell is seeking a Field Survey Supervisor to lead day-to-day survey operations for Oil & Gas projects (pipelines, terminals, facilities). You’ll manage multiple field crews, coordinate with clients and contractors, and ensure accurate, on-time deliverables from stakeout through as-built documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee daily activities of multiple field survey crews to drive quality, accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
- Serve as a primary field liaison with clients and client-side contractors to ensure effective project management and success.
- Maintain tight communication with office staff (PMs, CAD/Mapping) to align on scope, priorities, and deliverable timelines.
- Perform on-site supervision: verify field notes and data integrity daily; review crew time, mileage, and overall performance.
- Ensure proper construction staking and production for pipeline and facility work (ROW, foundations, utilities, grade).
- Manage construction as-built survey efforts and coordinate redlines/updates for record documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of field survey experience in Oil & Gas or heavy civil; 2+ years in a lead/supervisory capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of construction staking, control networks, and as-built workflows.
- Proven ability to plan crew assignments, prioritize changing field conditions, and uphold quality and safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites; willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Experience on pipeline/facility projects, including ROW, hydrotest/as-built, and facility layout; knowledge of QA/QC and project documentation practices.
