As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and optimizing Axi’s IT environment. You will be the third-level escalation point for the service desk team, handling complex issues related to Azure, Windows OS, Networking, and general IT while actively managing tickets. Beyond troubleshooting, you’ll also mentor junior team members, offering guidance and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) to help them grow.

Your responsibilities extend beyond day-to-day support. You’ll be responsible for maintaining stability and uptime, ensuring the infrastructure is secure and performing efficiently. Additionally, you will take ownership of Axi’s architecture and design, shaping solutions that enhance scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. A key part of your role will be designing and optimizing systems for High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) to ensure business continuity.

This is a dynamic role that blends technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking, making it a vital part of Axi’s ongoing success.

Your EDGE assignment/You will:

•    Lead on Systems Architecture, Design & Implementation across Cloud and on-premises environments. 
•    Lead on Technical investigation analysis and diagnosis of incidents.
•    Lead on Incident investigation, root cause analysis, error diagnosis.
•    Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
•    Writing professional technical documentation
•    Conduct and lead research into systems issues and products as required. 
•    Communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. 
•    Incident Management - Co-ordinate efforts to respond to and manage IT incidents, including logging, tracking, and escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely completion.
•    Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in IT systems and support processes and implement necessary changes to enhance service delivery.
•    Flexible and willing to work out of business hours when required, occasional weekend work may be required to support business critical systems outside of normal operating hours.

Person Specifications

•    5+ years’ experience working in a similar role
•    Expert knowledge of Networking – Design and implement robust network architecture across multi cloud (AWS/Azure/3rd party DCs) environments. Experienced with SDWAN technologies, Routing, Switching and Wireless. Familiarity with Meraki, Aruba and Fortinet products. 
•    Expert knowledge of public cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS) with focus on IaaS and PaaS services
•    Proficient in O365 related components (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Identity Management)
•    Advanced Problem-solving skills across infrastructure
•    Knowledgeable with scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell and MS Power Platform
•    Familiarity with Jira administration, PowerBI
•    Familiarity- IAC- Terraform, Azure DevOps 
•    Familiarity with VDI Infrastructure – Azure Virtual Desktop
