Senior Manager, Accounting

We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team, reporting to our Sr. Director of Accounting and Reporting. This role leads the month-end close, general accounting and process management, and ensures a strong internal control environmentThe ideal candidate will have foundational USGAAP knowledge, analytical and interpersonal skills, and hands-on experience with ERP systems implementation and management. Experience in renewable energy or property development environments is preferred. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership with month-end closing activities and standard operating procedures related to general ledger completeness and accuracy;
  • Establish and enforce a month-end closing calendar, deliverables, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities within Accounting and throughout Aypa;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline general accounting processes and enhance control over transactions;
  • Prepare, review, and ensure accurate capture of journal entries and daily transactions;
  • Manage cost allocations to projects and related & affiliated companies;
  • Maintain integrity and completeness of cash, accrual, tax, and Canadian local currency vs. USD books, including reconciliations of FX gains/losses and cumulative translation adjustments;
  • Prepare and review financial reports for various subsidiary entities, including for Management Companies to confirm completeness and accuracy;
  • Provide treasury management support, including cash reports and balancing cash entities;
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses as may be requested from time to time, including audit support;
  • Develop and lead the General Accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency; 
  • Other duties as required or assigned by the Controller or senior accounting management. 

Key Qualifications: 

  • CPA required;
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including supervisory/team management experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field;
  • Experience managing month-end close in a complex environment;
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions and investments;
  • Experience with consolidations, including stepped up values, investment eliminations entries;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Stampli, FloQast, LeaseQuery or similar business applications; 
  • Current on technical accounting pronouncements;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy, while prioritizing tasks to meet critical deadlines.

Compensation and Location: 

Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience.
Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on individual performance and the overall success of the business.

Location: Ability to work in the United States is a requirement. Preference is given to candidates located in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.
Travel: Limited travel required but must be able to travel to Canada.
