Who We Are

Babylist is the leading registry, e-commerce, and content platform for growing families. More than 9 million people shop with Babylist every year, making it the go-to destination for seamless purchasing, trusted guidance, and expert product recommendations for new parents and the people who love them. What began as a universal registry has grown into a full ecosystem for new parents, including the Babylist Shop, Babylist Health, and a flagship showroom in Los Angeles. Hundreds of brands in baby and beyond partner with Babylist to engage meaningfully with families during one of life’s most important transitions. With over $1 billion in annual GMV, and more than $500 million in 2024 revenue, Babylist is reshaping the $320 billion baby product industry. We’re helping parents feel confident, connected, and cared for at every step. As we build the generational brand in baby, our mission remains simple: to connect growing families with everything they need to thrive. To learn more, visit www.babylist.com.

Our Ways of Working

Babylist is remote-first with team members across the U.S. and Canada who move fast, think smart, and use AI as part of how they work every day — not as an experiment, as an expectation. We come together twice a year to build the relationships behind the work, and we hire people who are genuinely excited about what's possible and prove it through how they show up.

How We Build

Babylist is in the middle of a fundamental shift in how software gets made, and we are not tiptoeing into it. We are rebuilding our engineering culture around a simple belief: AI changes everything. How teams are structured, how decisions get made, how fast ideas become working software. Our engineers own problems end to end, working directly with product, design, and business partners with short feedback loops and real stakeholder access. We ship, learn, and iterate fast. When something is not working, we throw it out and start over — project failure and personal failure are not the same thing here. AI tools are as natural to our workflow as an IDE or version control. We are not exploring this, we are living it. Our engineers use AI to explore tradeoffs, pressure-test designs, and move from problem to solution in hours instead of days. They generate code with AI so they can stay focused on the decisions that actually require human judgment — not the routine ones. More velocity means more time for craft: better test coverage, stronger architecture, and deeper customer understanding. We hold ourselves to a higher quality bar because of AI, not in spite of it. We are building this playbook in real time, and we are looking for people who want to build it with us. If you have already changed how you work because of AI — or you are ready to — and you care more about shipping something great than following a prescribed process, we should talk.

What the Role Is

As a Senior Engineering Manager, BizOps, you’ll lead a team that doesn’t build customer-facing products—you build the engine that runs the business, and use AI to make that engine dramatically faster, smarter, and more scalable.

BizOps Tech is one of the most critical teams at Babylist. You will own the AI-powered systems behind three of our most operationally complex domains: Customer Service, Merchandising, and Health. Across all three, the opportunity is the same—take high-friction, human-intensive operations and redesign them around what AI agents can do today. That means automating the CS workflows that drain your team’s time, so human agents can focus on moments that require real empathy and judgment. It means compressing a product onboarding process that takes weeks of manual Merch work into something that largely runs itself. And it means building the intelligence layer behind Babylist Health—understanding insurance eligibility, routing the right information to the right payers, and getting Babylist paid accurately and on time.

This is not incremental improvement. This is a fundamental rewrite of how the business operates.

You will partner directly with executive leadership and own both the technology and process changes required to make AI agents work in production. You’ll lead a growing team of engineers across multiple sub-domains, with a direct line of sight to meaningful, measurable business impact—and a clear path to expanding the BizOps AI model beyond these initial domains. If you want to be the person who figures out how to run a scaled consumer business on AI agents, this is where you do it.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience, including leading multiple teams or parallel workstreams in high-ambiguity environments
  • Hands-on experience building and shipping AI agents or automation systems in production, where real teams rely on them day-to-day
  • Strong technical foundation as a former engineer, with experience owning and operating production systems before moving into management
  • Proven track record leading through ambiguity, setting direction and establishing standards where none existed
  • Experience driving process transformation alongside technical builds, especially in operational or business-critical workflows
  • Skilled at partnering with business stakeholders, translating messy, real-world problems into clear technical approaches
  • Comfortable working with senior and executive leadership, contributing to roadmap decisions and prioritization
  • Thoughtful people leader, with experience coaching engineers at different levels and growing ICs into stronger operators
  • You're genuinely excited about what AI can do—not just as a concept, but as something you actively use to rethink systems and workflows. At Babylist, every team uses AI daily, and we're looking for people who lean in.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Own the CS Tech pod end-to-end, including Zendesk, AI assist tooling, chatbot systems, routing logic, and real-time data integrations
  • Replace manual CS workflows with AI agents that handle routine interactions, allowing human agents to focus on high-empathy, high-judgment moments
  • Lead Merch Ops Tech by automating high-friction workflows across PDP content generation, vendor onboarding, Contentful, and pricing systems
  • Reduce time-to-live for new vendor catalogs from weeks to hours through scalable automation and system design
  • Build Babylist Health DME systems from the ground up, including insurance eligibility, payer-specific submission logic, and payment workflows
  • Design and implement workflows that are natively built for AI, not retrofitted—redefining how work gets done across each domain
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape and execute Babylist’s AI transformation strategy across BizOps
  • Develop a repeatable AI operating model that can extend beyond CS, Merch, and Health into other parts of the business
  • Build and lead a high-ownership engineering team across multiple domains, raising the bar on execution, accountability, and impact

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
