Manager, Business Development Representative
Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
As a Manager, BDR at BambooHR, you will lead and develop a team of Outbound Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to maximize top-of-funnel growth. You'll work closely with sales and marketing leaders to devise strategies that increase volume, efficiency, and conversion of outbound-sourced pipeline.
Your role involves building and optimizing target prospecting processes, setting and tracking performance goals, coaching and developing team members, and driving alignment between outbound prospecting and overall go-to-market strategies.
You will:
- Leading and scaling an outbound BDR team to consistently meet or exceed pipeline generation targets.
- Aligning outbound prospecting efforts with marketing campaigns and organizational goals.
- Designing and improving outbound practices and cadences to increase conversion rates from lead to qualified opportunity.
- Conducting regular 1:1s and team coaching sessions to drive accountability and skill development.
- Tracking and reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly BDR performance metrics.
- Collaborating closely with marketing to ensure alignment on messaging, personas, and ideal customer profiles (ICPs).
- Leveraging CRM tools and sales engagement platforms to manage activity and gain performance insights.
- Partnering with sales leadership to ensure smooth hand-offs of qualified opportunities.
- Maintaining strong team communication and a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
- Coaching BDRs on how to research and engage with key buyer personas across multiple channels, including phone, email, and social.
- Monitoring BDR notes and activity in CRM systems to ensure pipeline quality and process adherence.
- Demonstrating product and market knowledge to help BDRs confidently communicate value during prospecting.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the SaaS industry.
- 2+ years of outbound BDR/SDR leadership experience with proven success managing prospecting teams.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of outbound sales strategy, cold outreach, and lead qualification best practices.
- Experience using Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft, Gong).
- Proven ability to coach and develop individuals to exceed performance expectations.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- A data-driven mindset and comfort with reporting and analyzing team metrics.
