About the Role:

As our first dedicated Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in driving Campus Cafe's growth within the higher education market. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing deals and managing client relationships. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape our sales department from the ground up, laying the foundation for a high-performing sales team. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, self-starter who is passionate about higher education and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets within the higher education market.
  • Identify and qualify potential clients (colleges and universities) through targeted outreach, networking, and industry events.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to key decision-makers (Presidents, CIOs, Registrars, Deans, etc.).
  • Manage the entire sales process, including proposal development, negotiation, and contract closing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and success with Campus Cafe.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide feedback to the product and leadership teams to inform product development and strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of sales processes, materials, and best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and the evolving needs of higher education institutions.
  • Collaborate with marketing on lead generation and demand generation activities.
  • Track and report on sales activity and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in SaaS enterprise sales, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, including key decision-makers and purchasing processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.1
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.2
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and scaling a sales function.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Bachelor's degree required.
