Construction Inspector/Technician/Coordinator - New Braunfels/San Marcos Area Territory - BGE Inc Civil Engineering Construction Management Team
Job Responsibilities
- Observes construction activities performed by a contractor or sub-contractor on bridge structures, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure.
- Documents and reports to the supervisor whether the activity was completed in accordance with contract documents
- Additional duties include observation and documentation for specific testing procedures outlined in the specifications
- Maintains a daily job log
- Arranges and conducts job progress meetings
- Schedules and conducts final inspections with representatives from various municipalities
- Communicates directly with client representatives
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; specialized vocational training is a plus.
- 2 years of general civil construction experience, including TXDOT inspection experience
- 2 years with inspection of bridge structures and retaining walls
- Strong understanding of civil construction schematics/drawings
- Ability and willingness to work hours other than 8am to 5pm, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability and willingness to work outside with exposure to weather conditions
- Ability to perform basic math skills including geometry
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Must possess a current valid US-based driver license and must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and driving record check.
