About the Role

Join us as an integral part of the Accounting team at Bluevine! We are building an elite team of smart and driven individuals to deliver timely and accurate reports to management and be responsible for growth monitoring at Bluevine. You will be instrumental in Bluevine’s financial and business aspirations and will help the company realize its potential.

In this Accounting Manager role, you will own significant portions of the month-end close, lead ad hoc projects, and oversee key operational processes. You will both manage and develop staff and prepare/review complex areas (e.g., accrued expenses, prepaids, payroll accounting). The ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator who sets a high bar for quality, shows strong leadership, operates proactively, and can effectively problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the monthly close for SG&A (including G&A, Sales & Marketing, and Transaction Processing).
  • Oversee accruals and prepaids; monitor vendor-level analytics.
  • Oversee partner revenue billing and related accounts receivable balances.
  • Provide governance over the Accounts Payable function.
  • Prepare the monthly flux analysis and present it to the Controller.
  • Develop and execute a plan to expedite the financial close to a 5-day close within two quarters through process redesign, automation, and elimination of non-value tasks.
  • Oversee Staff Accountant and AP Clerk.
  • Serve as the accounting liaison to Payroll; own GL mapping, JEs, and reviews.
  • Assist with corporate tax reporting and communications with external tax advisors.
  • Assist in coordinating, planning, and executing annual audits with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain internal process documentation for areas of responsibility.
  • Draft and maintain accounting policy memos; prepare impact assessments for new US GAAP standards and recommend implementation plans where applicable.
  • Contribute to monthly discussions on the performance of internal controls over financial reporting and analysis of new risks for relevant business processes.

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 
  • CPA required.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience:
    • Banking, lending, fintech industry accounting.
    • Public accounting experience in financial services.
  • Advanced Excel; ERP experience (NetSuite preferred).
  • Experience with complex reconciliations.
  • Experience in payroll accounting.
  • Strong understanding of both financial and operational controls.
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a changing environment.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally across the company.
  • Strong analytical mind and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.

This is a hybrid role. At Bluevine, we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, which we believe is best maintained through in-person interactions and a vibrant office environment. All of our offices have reopened in accordance with local guidelines, and are following a hybrid model. In-office days will be determined by location and discipline.

New Hire Base Salary Range: $132,400 - $166,200.
This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.
