Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Controls to lead our business control strategy and execution across the Personal Loan line of business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of operational rigor and entrepreneurial problem-solving - combining the discipline of mature company practices with the agility of fintech or emerging growth environments.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for building, enhancing, and monitoring our business control framework, leveraging best-in-class tools, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to manage operational risk, ensure compliance, and drive process excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the business control framework for personal loan servicing, ensuring operational integrity and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, partnering closely with Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams.
  • Manage relationships with common business control and AI solution providers (e.g., NICE Actimize, FICO, Verint, Onfido, Alloy, etc.) to enhance monitoring, fraud prevention, and quality control processes.
  • Leverage automation, AI, and data analytics to proactively detect anomalies, inefficiencies, or potential control breaches.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Vendor Management to ensure controls are embedded into process design and system functionality.
  • Develop and execute control testing programs, validating their design effectiveness and operational performance.
  • Track, resolve, and report on operational incidents and control gaps, ensuring timely remediation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory requirements and industry best practices impacting personal loan servicing.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business control, operational risk, or related experience in consumer lending, banking, or fintech.
  • Demonstrated success in both mature company environments and high-growth or early-stage settings.
  • Proven ability to manage and integrate third-party vendor solutions into operational workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with AI/ML-driven monitoring solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CRCM, CAMS, Six Sigma).
  • Direct experience with personal loan servicing processes and systems.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard business control and fraud detection tools, including but not limited to:
    • Fraud & Transaction Monitoring
    • Identity Verification
    • Quality Monitoring
    • Analytics & AI Tools
