In this role
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in securing a global organization’s cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in security architecture, configuration baselines, and control frameworks to design and implement robust security measures that address evolving threats. This role requires driving alignment on security standards, collaborating across engineering and operations teams, and leading initiatives to automate and scale secure-by-default environments. You will be instrumental in reducing systemic risks, closing security gaps, and ensuring that enterprise platforms and tools meet stringent security requirements — while balancing innovation, operational needs, and compliance obligations.
Senior Security Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement security configuration baselines and controls for both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Lead initiatives to address systemic security risks, define mitigation plans, and drive adoption of secure-by-default practices.
- Collaborate across diverse technical teams to align on standards, processes, and tools for securing enterprise platforms.
- Evaluate and integrate both standard and non-standard security controls into infrastructure and platform technologies.
- Drive automation of security processes to ensure scalability and consistency in enforcement.
- Own large-scale network and security architecture initiatives for enterprise-level environments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers and stakeholders on security best practices.
- Support complex infrastructure products and solutions in customer-facing engagements, ensuring security requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 10+ years overall experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related technical fields.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud security.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with network security and operating system/server security.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with identity and access management.
- At least 3+ years working with security configuration and tooling at scale for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Proven track record in large network/security architecture ownership for enterprise or cloud providers.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of cloud and on-prem infrastructure security principles.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, platform hardening, and identity/access governance.
- Ability to create and enforce technical security baselines and control frameworks.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Effective cross-team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Clear and concise communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Experience implementing security controls and configurations at a global enterprise scale.
- Hands-on experience with security automation frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with both industry-standard and custom-developed security solutions.
- Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles involving infrastructure security.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $120,000 to $130,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
